Cover Story

I love the insurance business.  I really love helping people to understand their insurance coverage and fulfilling their needs. In November, 1974, my father, Harold Tolar started as a Nationwide Insurance Agent.

He would take me to work with him on Saturday mornings to do his filing.  Then we had lunch together.  In May, 1981 he asked me to go to work for him temporarily until he could find a new customer service representative.  The rest would become history. For the next 23 years, Dad and I worked as a team to build the agency.  For 10 years, my sister, Deborah, also worked with us in the agency.    She then answered her calling as a Registered Nurse and now resides in Richmond, VA with her husband, Dr. Brian Wright. Working with family was great and Dad taught us both so very much.

In April, 1996, I became an Associate Agent with Nationwide and when Dad retired in December, 2004, I became the primary agent.  I can say it has been 29 years of wonderful times and helping people.  I enjoy my customers becoming my friends. I had the privilege of being selected as the Fayetteville Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors 1999 and 2005 Member of the Year.  I served as a board member, Secretary, President-Elect, and President and Treasurer for four years.  In 2006 Nationwide presented us with the Champion Award and the Nationwide Life Sales Award. I was born and raised in Fayetteville and attended Douglas Byrd High School. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fayetteville State University in December 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I earned my Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow designation in August, 2002. I am also a member of the Professional Women of Fayetteville and the Chamber of Commerce.

I am married to Wayne Eaton. We are blessed with a son, Christopher, his wife, Robin, granddaughter, Maggie, and grandson, Sam who reside in Hope Mills.  Also our daughter, Cynthia and her husband, Clayton  DeGiacinto and grandson, Nicholas who reside in New York City. I would be happy to help you with all your insurance and financial investment questions, just give me a call..Sharon
